As far as translation goes, I never expect them to be perfect, whether it be sub or dub. We cannot all study every language and culture in order for us to attempt to enjoy something that comes from that culture, be it Anime or whatever. In the case of Inuyasha, I first watched the episodes in English on TV so I became accustomed to hearing the English voices and I hate going back and forth between voices including sub first. As far as scenes being changed or removed, can you honestly say that they weren't already changed from the manga that they are usually based from? Most of the Anime that I watch, has been changed from the ORIGINAL story line regardless. Its hard to make a perfect adaptation from text to motion picture. That's the same for many (even well done) book to movie translations. So why be upset that only dub is (however often) different from the sub when its already been changed from the manga? Like many have pointed out, they dont have the time to learn so thoroughly a language and culture that is already not widely taught in the US. Also, I think your response to many people being hurt by your segregation based on unfair standards shows that even with your high knowledge of the language and culture, you still seem immature and unable to be understanding towards others. Lighten up. You are allowed to have a preference just like everyone else. Its when you say that if you don't prefer subs then you are not a true anime fan. Or, if you did not take the time and money, to learn the language and culture, then you are not a true fan. Those two premises are just ignorant opinions which cause aggression. I can see how you think, thinking that if you take the time to understand something then it makes you more of a "true" fan but does that not just mean that you are more able to be knowledgeable? And if you are more knowledgeable, are you not able to share your knowledge without having to stand yourself on a pedestal and snub your nose at others?
