I can't believe that there was a military advisor for this film. However, if there was, he or she should be shot. I have watched a lot of military films in my day, but this was, by far, the worst, in terms of rookie mistakes; from the military decorations and badges being completely messed up to calling a Navy Captain Colonel. I served 7 years in the Army during Vietnam and I'm ashamed that this film ever saw the light of day.

This film was evidently thrown together, with hopes that nobody with any brain cells other than those cells that liked watching explosions would see it... the former reviews regarding Mitchell being called 'Colonel' were correct, but it doesn't stop there... In the 1986 timeframe, Petersen is a Captain, and is wearing a 'surface warfare pin'-- but in the 1999 timeline, after becoming an Admiral, he is wearing "dolphins", or a 'submarine warfare pin'-- It is *extremely* unlikely that a surface captain went thru sub quals and changed warfare designations... Then, to add insult to injury, not only were most ribbons placed pell-mell, but the Captain of the "USS Normandy" was wearing an AIR WARFARE PIN!! (I was a submariner; and I have yet to meet an 'Airedale' that would even *look* at a submarine!! hahaha!) If I hadn't seen it for free, I'd demand my money back (as should everyone who ever paid to see it!!)

So, no one's mentioned that the Prowler's used in this movie are NOT bombers. And Ice-T? He's less believable than if Grimace himself jumped in the cockpit and dropped french fries for bombs. One redeeming quality, Winston takes a break from Ghost Busting to show up and lend some acting credibility to this piece of nonsense.Terrible acting, terrible screenplay, distractingly bad special effects, inconsistencies left and right.... geez, I'd be embarrassed to put my name on this work.Oh yea, Erika Eleniak is still nice to look at.

While I can understand a lot of where the previous comments are coming from, unfortunately, they missed the most important point. Almost all the aerial and combat footage for the movie was reused from "Flight of the Intruder" (1991), a really bad flick that used badly fabricated models from director John Milius ("Red Dawn")

First, When is a Naval Captain (a Four Stripe) called a Colonel. In the Navy they are a Captain. Also A Captain in Navy normally would Command, Not flying an Airplane nor would he be Actually placed in a Combat area. And on the Ribbons that everyone wears, Should be set in Order as shows in the Basic Military Requirements Books that all Branches of services are aware. The national Defence Ribbon is Located on the Very Bottom and First Ribbon in order when worn on Uniform.

first off, the intruders, the cockpits are like the size of a 747's in this movie, and what's with the doors on the back bulk head? not even close to correct. the stealth that's not moving or flying around looks nothing like the one that is, so who ever did that mock up is dumb, in the end when that guy went after the stealth, it looked like he got into an f-15, but then when he was taxiing out he was in a 2 seat f-16 and a few times i thought i saw a single seat f-16 flying around, when they first met up in the air I saw 2 stealths flying, and when the stealth blew up it looked like it was the f-16 got blown up, clearly it was not a stealth blowing up, and not once did i see any of the fighter pilots wearing a g-suit. and who moved the ladders away from the aircraft after they got in if no one was around? this was by far the worst made movie i've ever seen, they weren't consistant with anything it seemed they just grabbed stuff and threw it together not caring what it was. horrible.
