yes national geographic really does need to check their records. I've fished for white sturgeon avidly throughout my life here in idaho, average size caught for me is 6-7 feet. largest i have landed myself was a 1.5 hour fight in southern idaho at 10.5 feet. My friends have also landed larger and have video to prove it, but here in idaho we can't even take them out of the water. And all we do is fish the rivers from the bank with 12-14 foot rod and reels. pathetic research National Geographic has done. and there was also one in southern idaho that was cought wild, taken to the Hagerman National Fish Hatchery and lived there for a long time, at least 40 years, and was over 200 years old. It died i think at 208 years old they estimated. if i remember right it was about 17-18 feet.
Try stop..shush and actually listen.
ON RECORD is what they are going by. You know how many people catch record fish, have it categorized, typed or recorded improperly and fail to get credit for a record ?
Species...all sturgeons are not the same friend. pathetic ? Failing to pay attention and think could fall into that same category.I loved the show, too bad it is more of an espn type show with limited draw and such a limited amount of data to make a real series of.
