Story of three women who try to evacuate hundreds of Vietnamese orphans prior to the fall of Saigon. Based on a true story by Ina Balin, who portrays herself in the film.
Not the best made film, but great story. This woman,Betty, has made women proud, Why have I never heard of this movie before, or this woman? Worth watching.
Have not watched the movie yet, I read reviews sometimes before I view. This is your mom? I am going to watch and comment afterwards. Glad you were brave enough to comment on line. You only gave it 3 stars, why?
...of warmth, tenderness & nobility. Would be cool & wonderful to see a movie follow up, documentary style of the actual present day An Lac Children survivors' story. Aside from the dramatization, this was both heartwarming & heartbreaking but worthwhile to watch.
This movie was made in 1980. The Vietnamese only started emigrating to the US en masse in the mid to late 1970s, and I doubt there wouldn't have been a large number of qualified Vietnamese actors to be able to use all Vietnamese actors. And it looks like a made-for-TV movie.
ok.. I just had to do this... this is about my mother... scary that this is online... but happy that it is... she is still helping children around the world.. if you want to contact her or help her out... go to her email... www.bettytisdale.com
MGM being a big company didnt have the decency to use real vietnamese, all those actors are philipinos, the only vietnamese is Kieu Chinh and some of the orphans.Even all the soldeirs in the movie were phlipinos, cheap actors, and probally filmed in the philipines. You guys could have use Orlando, theres alot of scenery and vietnamese people in Florida. Does the vietnamese people no justice using another tie in.
Tags are user-generated labels related to this video or show that can help you discover related videos on Hulu. Check the tags you feel are most appropriate for this video or add your own (the number in parentheses indicates how many other users have used that tag.) To find other videos with similar tags, simply click on the tag that interests you most.
Tags are keywords or category labels that can help you and others find videos on Hulu. They also classify videos for later recall. You can tag videos yourself by simply checking the box next to a popular tag for a video or by using the "add" field to create a new tag. Click on any tag — "comedy" for example — to discover other videos similarly tagged by you or other users. Because tags are reviewed by Hulu, there may be a delay in surfacing your tags. The most relevant tags are sorted by category for the rest of Hulu to see. You may assign up to 30 tags for any video or show; to review all of your tags, see the Tags section on your profile page.
Your tags may be visible to other users on Hulu. You should not use:
Profane or obscene language
