I don't think I'm wrong, but we can agree to disagree.
I think the main problem with society is that there is only boy and girl, when there really is a lot of gray area in between.
It's too black and white. What about the intersexed individuals? In Native American cultures they embraced third gender roles.
I agree that gender role is taught in society, however, a certain gender being taught to a child making them want to be the opposite sex I disagree with. Obviously, I'm sure that may have happened, since one can't completely say no, but for transgender people, no. It doesn't happen that way.
It's not just about feeling, saying things like boys (or vice versa), it's about being one physically as well.
Often times, not being able to get surgery or hormonal treatment is the primary cause of severe depression in these individuals. So it's not just about being viewed a certain way in society or being able to do a certain thing, it's about themselves, their body.
I would advise you to have a nice chat with a transgendered individuals, should you ever have the opportunity. It would be a good experience. Even if you continue to hold the views that you have and completely disagree with me so be it.
I could have easily lived just fine without surgery or hormonal treatment in societies perception of me, but it wasn't about society, or "playing the role", it was about myself, my body.
Anyway, honestly, transgenderism is the hardest thing to explain. It's my least favorite thing to explain to people, because most, just don't get it, and don't want to, and most, don't even know any personally, or know much about it.
So it's futile to argue/discuss a topic with someone who knows nothing about it. (Not accusing you of this, just speaking in general).
