trucks hit on the side of the road are a common occurrence, at least from my personal experience. Try working at 3am on a 65+mph highway where most do 80 and see just how many move over. Keep in mind at 3am the highway is close to deserted with a car every 10-20 seconds, I would say probably close to 1 in 10. I think the rest actually are aiming for me....   See 3 other replies

Just because its a law doesn't mean that people obey it. Being a tow-man myself, I see it on a daily basis where people disregard the law. Two winters ago, I was almost hit by some idiot on the road not moving over. The cop that was behind me got the guys plate and gave him a citation for failing to move over.That same winter, one of my coworkers was almost hit 3 times at one scene. One was too close, the other one spun out of control and went in between the flatbed and the casualty, and the last time was a semi that missed the truck by 4 inches on the side. Luckily the state cop behind him hit his sirens and he jumped onto the deck of the bed. He escaped death, he didn't escape the bruised knee that took him out of commission for 2 weeks.   See 3 other replies
