and yes it does matter. children need to be able to find beauty in all cultures and skin colors and apart of that is having movies like this with people in it that's a different ethnicity-- in this case black.
Disney is an American company. People of color/black people are as american as it gets, besides the natives of course, so there should have been a movie with a black princess a LONG time ago.
This movie is very important for little black girls, who are constantly seeing whites/european-americans as beautiful in the media and on tv. Its also important for little white/european-american kids to see a black princess...
basically, i can say alot, but i dont feel like continuing, the point is-- this movie is important. and i cant wait to see it! :-)
ps- people are not purple
