I'm watching them all again. This was such a great series, it's too bad this is all they made? The plot is kind of silly, but the phenomenal acting makes up for it. The only thing I could do without is the excessively long intro into each show.

I love dead like me. i discovered it here on hulu while i was bed ridden at the end of my pregnancy. I only began watching it because all 30 episodes were posted i figured it would be great to get into. after i watched the piolt i fell in love. i cant believe this show got cancelled so soon. it had great potential. anyways, i was originallly going to name my daughter-to-be Ivy, but i fell in love with Georgia's character and her name. so, yes, i named my daughter after a grim reaper. :)

That was George very early in the pilot:

Joy: ... You'll get out of bed and you will go to work. You will collect a pay check and you will move out of this house. Understood?
Get dressed!!!
George: Those are funeral clothes.
Joy: There's gonna be a funeral if you don't get your as$ out of bed.
George [voiceover]: Those are the last words my mother will ever say to me
Joy: NOW MOVE IT!
George [voiceover]: Boy, is she gonna be sorry!

The relationship with the mom is just so sad to me. Mostly because you can see the mom sad and wanting to be able to be warm with her daughters but because of the past, it doesn't happen.

I just couldn't think of not loving and being nice to my mom. It would kill me. See 6 other replies

i agree with you. yes. the mom has flaws, but she is trying to do her best with what she has. If i had a kid like George, I would be pissed. she left college to mope and sit around all day. and when the mom wants her to be productive with her life she just complains. i agree that the father is a reason why this family isn't working/interacting better. Because not everyone goes through all five stages. And yes while they have most just skip to the appectance stage and move on. There are a few that go through some other stages. For example in The Bicycle Theif, after Daisy reaps the painters soul and takes a painting, he goes through anger (directed at Daisy), bargaining (saying he'd move on if she returned the painting) and then acceptance. along with all that other stuff she did (denial, bargaining, etc.)....why is it none of the people they take to the afterlife, argue about it with the reapers the way she did? I know that would slow the story down but at least it would be realistic
