It was filmed in Vancouver, BC, Canada. They really didn't make any efford to hide that. All the street names were left unchanged, you can see Canadian flags, the train in the pilot shows clearly "Canada" markings and so on ... Also the shots from space during the impact of the toilet seat show downtown Vancouver and not Seatle.
To find the exact impact location search Google Maps for "West Hastings Street & Hornby Street, Vancouver, BC" and compare the map with the footage from the pilot. Here some links to street level pictures of the public square on West Hastings Street & the end of Hornby Street where Georgia's life was cut short:

if they WERE to show the skyline of downtown Seattle from the beach, it would have been from ALKI in west seattle. for those not from Seattle/puget sound region, alki is a small town located right on the beach; you could make a loose comparison of alki to venice, CA; you know, restaurants, hotels, apartments, street, then pedestrian path for bikes, skateboards, skaters, then beach with at least 6 volleyball nets in a row. from a Puget Sound native.   See 6 other replies
