1st Pastor delivered a good message.
The Pastor Samuel admitting that he himself does not feel “it” (Gods Word) is probably more true of many Pastors today. And in the beginning, part, he admits it, which is good.
Also as for the part where they suggest to Samuel NOT to send money to their home Church, but to get people to send money to them, is so so true.
During the meeting where the New Pastor was sitting in, they mentioned that “This is their lively-hood” and this is so true of the American Church which is run under pragmatic business conditions.
After the hair cut, he 1st takes Gods name in vain, rather than exclaiming a four letter filth word, he states “Oh my God”, then he states “I built a ministry based on “my” image”...
This is so true to life...
American churches, and most seminaries, (where they train pastors) are teaching men to do just that.
And although the movie did not have him physically committing Adultery, he did commit Adultery with her in his heart, which is the same thing.
Wow... the board getting on him because his image is not going to draw the people.
Sounds like a lot of big name, purpose driven, best life now, TD Ministries, and word of faith churches today. The similarities are striking.
His statement after they kicked him out, about it being “his church”. That is where most of American Christianity is at. It is their Church, doing their thing... When in fact is it Christs Church.
This movie points out so much of what is out there.
Intentional or unintentional the movie does show that God does discipline or prune, but it is Him doing it, it is for a greater reason, that we many times cannot see.
