The Donna Reed Show: Pardon My Gloves

The boxing scene is straight from "The Bells of St. Mary's". Donna Reed is even cut from the same mold as Ingrid Bergman (facial features wise). From the man at the store promising the book will teach boxing to Bergman's/Reed's character suffering a blow to the face during instruction--it just screams copycat. But that's okay. I think this is a cute show and the entire family is very beautiful, cute, and handsome, accordingly. Forgive me for being superficial, but I can't help thinking Reed would look better in a different hairstyle. I'm not quite sure what, but something. The one she has is not awful but I think it could be improved upon.

Donna Reed could have continued in films, but instead she favored the masses by bringing her considerable talent to television. Donna was a worthy star to be the focus of a weekly series and compete with likes of Lucy and Eve Arden on other networks. Thanks to good writing and the support of a winning cast, The Donna Reed Show garnered loyal fans that followed the show for many years. Thank you Hulu for this great slice of mid-century Americana!
