I was a kid when this show was on, but I remember being into it for some reason. I agree with the old viewers of this show that Rhoda and Joe should never had a divorce or gotten married to the end of the show. I mean Rhoda and Joe's wedding episode was one of the highest rated shows on 70 's TV. But the writers divorced the couple, because the ratings began to slip. Viewers complained when writers seperated the two. They said found it hard to write humors material for a married Rhoda. It was easier for them to write humours episodes about a single woman struggling in her personal life. But that was their failing. It's more likely that the writers hearts weren't in it. It was the 70's and I'd guess some of the writers were younger and a little more liberal than the viewing audience. So the wanted to write about something they could relate to--single, divorced alone that was the modern woman. Marriage was the end of the story which is where they eventually left it after 5 seasons.
