This movie is great. It is a humanist piece and a sociology study via metal band in Baghdad. I hope some big wig at a record label doesn't do anything with this band. What is the deal with people seeing a good thing and thinking it needs to be pushed into the spotlight and picked up by some label? This metality is ruining music. This band should not leave. What makes this band is it is a coping mechanism and a form of expression for their surroundings. You change the surroundings and cushion the band you crutch their existence and expression. They would not be the same band. They are getting their songs out, this video exists so many people have heard of them because of it. The point is they are making music, which is what they want to do, they are living their dreams in the fact that they found their small nitch to make their "normal" life worth living. Money and power are not everything. Also, if you take this band out of Bagdad the people that support this band and connect with them for the exact reason this band exists no longer have an outlet. You are stealing something local for something national, big, and ugly. This is what happened to hardcore, punk, indie, and grunge once Nirvana "Nevermind" came out. Read "Our Band Could Be Your Life" its an outstanding book and it explains this better than I could in a post. And trying to classify and compare American music into one lump of crap to one Baghdad band is just silly and self justifying. I make music in America. I have toured nationally and internationally. I have recorded professionally and DIY. I have done it all I am not spoiled. The problem in America isn't censorship it's mediocrity. Capitalism is about the lowest common denominator. Hairsplitting a theme in music down to one inbred gene because people don't want to think about art or try in making it. Companies have created music into math and science. There are several books on how to right "correctly" for the spotlight. There are "rules". Amanda, when you say "we" are you talking about your record deal where you slacked off and sold out because I've never heard of you. I'm not saying I'm special or self righteous. What I'm saying is I'm just a regular jerk off like everyone else. So is this band. They shouldn't be elevated to greatest metal band and go down in the history books. What makes them unique is they are not. They are just regular people living and dealing with their everyday life the only way they know how. These guys are unfreakin believable. I hope some big wig at one of the world's biggest record labels see's the potential in getting this band out of Iraq and into the spotlight of the world. Not saying the band should turn there back on there own country, but they should at least for the time being leave if it's at all possible. There music could be there freedom. They could get there songs out and live there dreams, as they should. I really hope someone somewhere has the power and money to make it happen. Best of luck to all those in this film. Great documentary, it makes feel lucky that I can make music so freely, I wish the same for these guys.

When the documentary says that American metal artists are spoiled it never actually accrued to me (as i am trying to form my own metal band) that we truly are quite spoiled. we have access and freedom to so many things just to pursue what we love, and then when we get a record deal we slack off and usually end up selling out. i believe that Auccruicauda ( i cant spell it) would benefit from our freedom seeing as how they put their very lives in the war zone and looked death in the face just to go to band practice. if they came out with a cd i would be one of the first to buy it. And i hope that they are still alive to further pursue their dream of being great metal artists in the history books, i know i will never forget them.

Great film.The first real media made film you can beleave. It truly made me feel how lucky we have it in the western countries.It is sad when they said life was better before the Busch invasion even under Sadam. I feel it's all about the haves and have nots. When and where your born is the life your sent through life with.Is it luck or fate ? I feel for the Iraqi people and others drawn into political conflicts.

great gorrilla style Documentary. good story telling

I have a friend from Iraq and he said the exact same thing these guys said. Iraq isn't full of Al Queda it is just bands of bandits from Egypt, Jourdan and the like raging crazy senseless attacks on whatever for no reason. Well thanks Bush for the hook up, you crazy dude.
Well this movie is truth. period.
