i'm a little confused about this...
i would say the main characters are two women (charlie and olivia) and two men (toby and oz), and none of them are lilies? even olejnik is a polish/czech name; marcos is a hispanic name, esmer is *from* turkey...what's the problem? charlie's boss is the whitest person on the show, and he doesn't really *do* anything. also, in response to another reply on this thread...i don't see ryder as a "big black boss." and i think oz has more character than "funny sidekick." on top of that, he points out prejudices ("you're falling for a stereotype;" "in case you haven't noticed, i'm not white..."). as for mass media being a part of our culture--my parents didn't let me watch tv. i still don't have one (meaning i don't feel like i missed out); so, i didn't build my self-image based on a television show or a collection of television shows. from what i've seen on hulu, tv's a bad place to get any of your self-image or sense of self-worth, and not just because of race. maybe your kid should just watch less tv.

Every thing is ripped off from something else. The Mentalist is pretty much a clone of Psych.Frankly, though, I don't see where anyone gets off saying that this is ripped off from Heroes. But then, I never really got "into" Heroes that much.   See 32 other replies
