Putting the word ""wiccan"" in a catagory is like saying all white people r trailer trash or all black ppl tote a gun and do drugs... it's not true!! As a pagan and witch of many years, I still see the old fears and prejudices rearing up, even in these so called enlightened days. A lot of the fear and hatred comes from political agendas and control issues. Even as we speak, there are those in office or attempting to get in office, who want to eradicate witches, pagans and any who do not follow the party line to the letter (meaning go to church and pretend to be something you are not).Where I now live, we must keep quiet about being pagan or wiccan, and yet the area is bursting at the seams with us. As long as those who are not pagan or wiccan do not have to openly know who is in their town here we are left in peace. There are only a few truly negative or potentially dangerous people here who would attempt harm.What bothers me is the fact so many want to shove anyone or anything they don't understand in to a closet so they can pretend it does not exist. The threat was never witches, nor are we are threat now.The only real threat, to any of us, regardless of our path, beliefs or way of life, is the ignorance and hatred of narrow minds.Blessed Be and Peace.   See 6 other replies

I myself am from a very long line of wiccans and this almost angers me. Thy practly try to say that wicca is devil worship. its an outrage to see the old ways descrated so. it seems to me that we are still in superstitous times where people are frightned and uneducated in such things.
