I agree. I think they were attempting the 'if it bleeds, it leads' approach. If you show enough gruesome crap in the beginning, you get more people to keep watching. See 2 other replies

Wow I was appalled at the introduction they used for the werewolf section, talking about how terrifying actual wolves are, and how they attacked people. There has never been a documented attack on a human by a healthy wolf. Killings attributed to wolves in the middle ages were really committed by feral dogs. And the use of images of hunters dragging wolves carcasses around like that, I mean this show is not very well done in any way but still they should do the basic research instead of perpetuating negative stereotypes about real animals in between segments on mythology.
