The TV show doesn't have to be exactly like the books in order to be any good. Just like superhero cartoons don't have to follow the comic's storyline in order to be a success. However, I do agree that this show's writers are what kept it from being a success. Too many instances of plot induced stupidity. Why don't they use the breath of life here, why don't they confess the evil witch there, when are they going to run out of sisters of the light/dark, and why didn't they show more of the frightening creatures from the underworld besides just banelings? Maybe these characters were simply too powerful, being able to enslave anyone or bring them back to life, and the writers simply didn't have the talent to write out solid plots for them. Then again, they could've put more restraints on their powers. Like someone said before, you aren't supposed to be able to confess wizards in the books.   See 3 other replies

The books were better, but I do like the fact that the tv show is cleaner. DR isn't as evil, but I'm glad that they took some of the Denna stuff out. I watched Game of Thrones for the first time yesterday and was disappointed. You don't need sex or sexual references every scene to see a fantasy series. Give me interesting characters with plenty of depth and I'll choose them over a sex scene every time.   See 3 other replies

Oh my, you didn't know that the secret manuscript detailing the making of this tv series was smuggled out of the film studio... By an intern who was angry at the fact that she was unpaid and wanted to expose the sinister truth. You see, the writers, fearing what the future would hold should they adhere to the letter of the book, took it upon themselves to fabricate a disingenuous retelling so that the truth would never fall into the wrong hands.   See 3 other replies
