Maybe Oprah should take a little more time out for some charitable organizations who could use some of that effect and support. Big Brothers, Big Sisters for one. I've worked with many volunteers, community organizers and activists from several states including New York, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Washington, D.C. where many of these programs are failing or losing the community support that they need. The result is always the same. Our youth in America lost in the wind. Lacking the education and resources and proper support to feel important or even a part of the communities they live in. Maybe these are just my concerns. More power to the owners of small businesses trying to get ahead. I am one myself. But the real question is about the future. What happens when the Oprah effect has lost it's cause?
What happened to her school in S.A? What about some of those struggling communities in the same Chicago neighborhoods she once grew up in? What about those less fortunate? How can they take advantage of the "Oprah Effect"?
I'm just saying.
