The first time I saw this show was a result of me looking for something for my 4 year old nephew and 2 year old niece to watch. Needless to say I was a little bit shocked when these cute fuzzy characters starting spouting blood everywhere.I grew up on Tom and Jerry and the like, and I found this to be an amusing modern day version. One exception is that the creatures are subject to accidental violence here where as with Tom and Jerry and other old school toons the characters actually spent all their time intentionally inflicting violence on each other. It's one thing to show kids that if a car falls on you you will probably get squished in a really gorey way..and it's another thing to teach kids that you can shoot a gun in someones face and all that will happen is their beak will probably get turned upside down. I think this is less violent in terms of pre meditated violence than alot of old toons. On the other hand, this cartoon could easily be disturbing or upsetting for some kids, since cute fuzzy animals are getting mutilated left and right.I don't hink many adults will take the time to check the comments prior to playing the video when the kids are waiting for the show to start. I think this program should have a a TV MA warning and a forced login in order to start playing the video so adults know right away that this might not be appropriate for all kids. At the very least a warning before the show starts would be nice.I'm not attacking Happy Tree Friends, or Hulu for hosting it, but I do have a feeling that I'm not the only adult that has mistakenly played this show for young children...then sat horrified not so much at what I was seeing, but at what I had just shown to the kids.
