I represent the moderate masses i come with no extremism one way or another but hear me out.No one is too lazy to read, that's not an issue. The true Japanese emotions arguments hold credence for walk-of-life animations set in Japanese culture, but a fictional universe populated with magic and science, there is no inherent reason that local tongue would be worse then Japanese. If you love the language, please keep on reading. If you love the emotion, please keep on reading. but STOP considering your opinions to be fact. If you just love the art, enjoy the dubs, if you just love the story enjoy the dubs.
I love to enjoy an anime about japan in japanese like Azumanga Dioh, but when i feel like enjoying a good mindf*ck like Deathnote or Ghost in the Shell hearing english pulls me into the universe so much more, i relate better i dont get knocked in the face with reality whenever a poorly subbed sentence has me pause the show. A poor sub is no better than a poor dub.Dont argue about which has better voice actors, that is not why you like subs, you like the authenticity, the foreignness, you like feeling part of a group, I like to relax and go into the universe and hear the characters and understand them. Please no one take offense from this, it was not intentional, I love a good dub and a good sub and i always compare the two with every anime i watch to determine which feels better, like Mushishi i thought that would be better in sub, but the dub was very enjoyable and soothing. Now anime fans young and old lets carry on and watch more animation with smiles on our faces and bicker less with hatred in our hearts.
