That was Jack making up a "logical" story as to why he might get angry enough to leave the SGC.

There IS an Alpha site later, and there may have certainly been (off screen) talk about it as early as season three, but as for Jack leaving SG-1 to go run it? Just a ploy. See 2 other replies

When Jack is talking to Daniel, he mentions how he and Hammond requested an off-world base that Jack would command. Jack (at the end of the episode) states that his house was bugged. It seems the people bugging his house (Maybourne's group) would have known about this off-world request. So, either this is true and Jack was denied this opportunity, or this is just a plot hole. I haven't seen the rest of the series, so I don't know if this comes up later, but any thoughts?

after watching season 4 ep 5 - divide and conquer, i have to reorder o'neill's (the most difficult) to:
1) carter
2) daniel
3) teal'c

the new popularity rankings would be:
o;neill 5, carter 5, daniel 6, and teal'c 8

Rewatching this episode got me thinking about who, in SG-1 likes who more. Each relationship is different, and i believe all the characters like each other, but reference to allegiance and bonding happens a little more with certain characters than others. Without a whole lot of reasoning, just judgment based on impressions, this is how I think SG-1 would rank their friendships with the rest of SG-1:

Carter-
1) O'Neill
2) Daniel
3) Teal'c

Teal'c-
1) O'Neill
2) Daniel
3) Carter

Daniel - O'neill and daniel get harder to rank
1) Carter
2) Teal'c
3) O'Neill

O'Neill - an argument can be made for any combination, but, I lean towards:
1) Daniel
2) Teal'c
3) Carter (i know, i know, the chemisty, but besides the occasional powerful tension... they really aren't that close)

Thus: I believe Carter and Teal'c are the least close out of the 4, that O'Neill likes Daniel more than Daniel likes O'Neill, and carter likes o'neill more than oneill likes carter (or at least lets on)

If you tallied these rankings, with the lowest score being the most popular, than:
Daniel 5
O'Neill 5
Carter 7
Teal'c 7

Thoughts? have i missed the ball on certain relationships?
