Yeah, this isn't about Target, just cashier-types. I worked at Trader Joe's, and we had lots of people like this. Heck, maybe I was like this a time or two! People of the middle-class get so angry that this takes place in Target (their class-specific store) and not Wal-Mart (the working class's class-specific store), and that just makes me sad. People have to be able to laugh at themselves. If laughing at Target makes you feel uncomfortable the next time you're shopping for facial soaps, tableware, and bath towels that the people at Wal-Mart couldn't afford anyway, you're just a bore. I've never heard of Target Lady or anything before seeing this clip just a second ago (obviously SNL is not worth watching unless I'm surfing on Hulu for a cool movie and have a few minutes to blow), but I think it's funny. And, yes, that old lady is based on Jim Varney and his impersonations. She has to be. RIP, comedy genius!   See 5 other replies
