Or were the writers to lazy too learn the basic facts of the human male reporductive capability? It doesn't matter how many hormones you give them (in fact after a point it would do more harm than good), the only result of using a man for 5 or 6 sexual acts a day is that he would be incapable of producing a pregnancy within a month and remain so for weeks. The best of men is good for about 2-3 ejaculations a week consistently containing enough sperm to reproduce. If each ejeculation was used for only one natural insemination, rather than parcelling them out to a dozen recipiants by artificial insemination, there would be no way a single male could produce more than a dozen or so pregnancies a month. In fact, the numbers would tend to be a lot lower, because even a fealmale with ideal fertility under ideal circumstances (and this would have to be a 17-19 yearold girl, by the way) would have only a 50/50 chance of getting pregnant per month in the insemination program. The average woman in her twenties with no fertility problems will take about 4-6 months the get pregnant. The chances of a forty yearold woman getting pregnant on the one day she happens to have access to a man (which doesn't allow for timing with her cycle) are slim to none.
