Most Boring Version of the Legend that I've ever seen, but maybe some will like it.Even the "Pocahontas" Wikipedia entry had more emotion/humanity than this film (and inspired more curiosity), and thus kept me more interested (reading whilst I only listened, barely, to most of this film) -- and WPedia uses primary-source references that contradict some claims in the last propagand... uh, I meant "review". ;-)Not that this film is a model of historic-accuracy either, but it doesn't claim to be. But anyway John Smith's earliest written account of how he met her was ~10 years after they met, and she didn't arrive in Britain until 1 year before she died, and understandably there are no other witnesses to the early years whose stories were written & verified, so much of the "original" story (the early parts, at least) is likely to be romanticized memories ("legend," not verifiable history nor verified to be lies).

As a native american, I can tell you this is completely untrue. Pocahantas was not her real name and she was already married with two sons when Smith arrived. The real story is one of rape, murder and enslavement.

The relationship between Pocahontas and John Smith never happen in the first place...but why make Pocahontas white?? Hollywood vision of beauty? This movie is racist.

Culturally, geographically, and historically offensive.(And as cinematic art it kind of stinks too)

Cool old school fights. Sexy pants. Hot princess. Kinda romantic. I Liked it!
