It looks like a sweet film. I'm sure I'll go see it. And I am not naive enough to think the script would be totally faithful to the blog or the book, "Julie and Julia." And actually, Julie takes liberties with her portrayal of Julia Child in HER book, so everyone is telling a story.
Still, I am saddened that there will be no references to Julie's written decisions for starting her blog, (including having PCOS and working for a pretty gross government agency). I identified a lot with Julie and her story as I read the book, and see the gorgeous Amy Adams and the storyline as a departure, and for me, a loss.
I think Meryl Streep can pull off Julia Child, but from reading about her life and watching her earliest cooking shows, I see the Julia Child in the trailer as a caricature of a truly amazing woman.
