OMG I grew up watching this on TV in the 1980s. Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Darla and Spanky cant think of a single 30 YO or older that I know that isnt hip to these kids. As far as racial issues pleaze they depicted the kids as kids and black and white kids have always gottewn along well it isnt till you grow up that the BS starts. Im glad HULU plus has this its one of the things that separate them from Netflix

I know this is a response to a comment left 2 years ago but didn't want anyone to make the same mistake twice. Jackie Cooper was played by actor/director Jackie Cooper who went on to star in the 1931 classic THE CHAMP and later played Perry White in SUPERMAN (1978). From 1927 to 1931 Mickey Rooney was busy starring in his own Mickey McGuire series, similar to the Little Rascals.

Those complaining about the depictions of the black children in this film are incorrect. First, all the children have things to say that would be considered politically incorrect if spoken by a black child such as "my mommy made my daddy marry her" and it was a white child who brought up the fact they would be missing out on watermelon. People are looking for things and reading in their own biases, shame on them. The fact that these movies showed all the kids playing with each other and even sitting in the same car together was unheard of anywhere else in film. These films were way ahead of their time. For those that thought this was too slow go back to your video games.

i had to erase my appreciation to hulu === because of capital letters?? what a rediculous reason to make an appreciative person === cancel a happy note TWICE!! i won't be wasting my time with these reviews ever AGAIN!
