A great little tale.But....did Gerry Anderson steal this plot outright for his 1969 movie "Doppelganger" ??? Even ends the same way with the smashed mirror. This works much better than the later story in an emotional capacity.Yeah, the host comments were rather nationalistic, smug, and even had a hint of bigotry. Yes...at one point he says: "Let us resolve to keep America a land where every "deserving" man and woman can enjoy their vacation." Sounds innocent enough until you recall that in 1952 there were still segregated beaches, restaurants, and other places "deserving" men and women could go when on vacation. Obviously the sponsor felt some "deserved" it, and others....???

In this episode I find the comments by the host to be the most interesting of all. He reads the Masland companies opening address. And boy are these some great quoted statements. Very inspiring words that I don’t here nearly enough on any TV show, or for that matter in the Media at all:
“The many blessing of which God has endowed our great country.”
“Where but in American can such variety and natural beauty be found?”
“The many blessing that can only be found in America.”May that be forever true.The episode has one of my favorite all purpose actors. Darren McGavin. Who plays Carl Kolchak the pesky hero in the TV series “The Night Stalker. And also played Mr. Parker the father of Ralphie, in the immortal “A Christmas Story”. And too, an actor of countless movies, all the way up until his passing on the 25th of February 2006 at the age of 83.This Episode gave the Twilight zone it’s chops.
