There is a reason for all sects and religions; infact, Islam, Christianity, and Judiasm are all sects of the same religion ( The religion of the God of Abraham / Ibrahim). There are many subsects to these three, if you belive in one of the sects that doesn't mean you should go around saying your's is all high and mighty. Mustafa, That is a ridiculous example...Just because women are living in the west doesn't mean they are all pregnant and getting naked...You are looking at the outliers to make your point and it isn't valid. You have to adopt to modern times without doing Haram. Keeping a beard is Sunnet not Farz. That means that it is optional to keep the beard not necessary. Therefore, if it is looked on with negative connotation, you have to shave it. There is also a rule with keeping a proper Sunnet beard. Your beard has to be at most four fingers away from the chin. These are all the fingers except the thumb put next to eachother then to your chin to gauge your beard. It is sunnet to cut anything longer than the last finger. Shaving the mustache and leaving the beard is haram and is done in Wahabism in Saudi Arabia. You either grow a beard four fingers width with a mustache and only groom the beard or you dont grow a beard at all. It is haram to grow and keep a short beard. Of course you can fully shave or just have a mustache as well.
