There is an unanswered question in this episode:
If the Gideon series made and maintained itself, who or what made the first Gideon robot?
and who or what programmed it to have the values it has?
The story ends with the Gideons leading their respective families in prayer.
for Gideon, is prayer a means to an end? (i.e.: the rituals of spirituality as a vehicle to family stability?) or does the Gideon robot actually understand the concept of spirituality? If so, that would imply it has a soul
Which religious course is it following? and again, who decided that?
and given the implied spiritual and moral values, how could it then threaten tthe father with violence?Too many contradictions in the premise...and too preachy, as well. See 6 other replies
