In the midst of a very interesting production that showed the deep psychological impacts of the division of Germany why show a segment about a out of it group that is mixing the cement from the wall into a "medicine". I almost stopped watching at that point. Fortunately I didn't , but really, what a detraction from the overall quality, emotion, and seriousness of the film.

The objective of this documentary and the importance of preserving the wall is to not bury the past. Wonderful statement that I agree with whole-heartedly, however, there was not a clear explanation given to who, what, where, when, why, how to the creation of it. If I was a 12 year old in any country, perhaps even Germany, I would not have a clear reasoning as to why it was in existence or how it came into existence in the first place occurred.
How can anyone understand why this should not happen again, if they don't have a clear understanding of what happened in the first place? Just seemed that many contributors forgot the rest of the world didn't live in Berlin and/or our history books do not begin following introduction with, "Chapter 1: History of Berlin"

All together 3 interesting people in the whole story. The former polizist, old lady and the guy with his "machine". I am from East Germany , lived in East Berlin for a while and was there when it came down...
All in all not a good production for this subject. even though the wall pertains to Berlin it was also a symbol for the rest of East Germany. A symbol of incarceration and freedom.
I couple of days later some friends and I stood in a traffic jam from Magdeburg to the border 11 hours just see what it is what we were missing and a deep sense of a weight lifted from us.
The sad part is that with the fall of the wall the sense of togetherness was lost, only a person who is, was a Ossi knows what I am talking about.
