How ironic, Annie...you criticize the local vernacular with a topic title that is not only obscene but also a regional slang overused by its people. Well done, haole. I recommend not visiting our islands...you'll hear a lot of said "moaning music" and "brah." See 5 other replies

Really bad. Most of these people rip but are socially "challenged" thugs and they prove it to everyone day after day.. Move to the N. Shore and learn for yourself. No aloha from these people. I can't blame them, but there are way more interesting stories and personalities in surfing.

As one local girl, born and raised in Hawaii, this show is definitely not representative of all local Hawaiian surfers. So please don't judge da '808' by this biased reality show, because there are a lot of us who live very different lifestyles even though we are from the same place.

There are many of us soul surfers who don't have a chip on our shoulder, and there are plenty of us left who didn't sell our souls to the surf industry. We'd be happy to welcome you with kindness, humbleness, and Aloha spirit, because that's how we were raised, and we know they are plenty of you who would do the same. Mahalo nui.
