This BY FAR has got to be hands down THE BEST OF THE BEST of the Outer Limits to date I have ever seen!
This also tops as my favorite OL's episode of all time.
The acting was overall 4 out of 5 stars, but I thought the captain chick was a little too annoying. Don't know if that was for dramatic pause on the writer's part or if it was merely the only down part of the whole story I saw, but I thought she was just a little too annoying to begin with. I think she was in Star Trek First Contact too, the part of Lily Sloan I believe.
My favorite actor was definitely Adam Ballwin. Gosh that guy sure is excellent at sci-fi stuff! I immediately recognized him as "Jane" from Firefly. Couldn't miss that. Even though he didn't act as the "thug" of this episode, he perform exceedingly well in this role.
No really, this is by far the best Outer Limits episode I've seen to date. It deals with the Earth getting decimated pretty badly by a doomsday device and with Mars being populated with a couple (at least a couple, I didn't really pay attention to that part) bases somewhat militaristic in nature. Anyways with all the commotion going on and the Mar's outposts getting hit by a shockwave, all heck breaks loose and they lose contact between the two bases.
The moral of the story (I thought at least) was/is when everything goes to pot, don't let fear control you. Learn to overcome it in a crisis and most important of all, DON'T FIRE OFF YOUR NUKES IN SUCH A HURRY!!!
