It's hard to number the "truths" we've received thus far that human beings are 'bad' and aliens are 'good'. How many episodes have we seen that condemn us for our lack of care for our planet and all other living creatures? WAY too many!
The ending of this episode was the same - we kill that which we do not understand and, by doing so, are proving that we're on the path to self-destruction.
-> Did I come to the same conclusion that the writers did (as summed up by the moderator)? Not on your (our) life!
--> What the ending DID immediately bring to mind was the short story by Damon Knight, adapted for TV's Twilight Zone, "TO SERVE MAN." That story showed human beings believing that aliens had arrived to help us by serving us ... on a dinner plate!
---> WHY did the writers for Outer Limits ALWAYS *believe* an alien's declaration that THEY have all the answers we need to be (become) a civilized society??
I'm getting pretty tired of "the message" that is presented as the 'truth'. I hope future episodes will be something better than 43+minute advertisements by antihuman, environmental extremists.
