When an entire industry is dominated by just a few companies, isn't the sin of one enough? Sure, we need to be mindful of slippery slope kinds of arguments, but this isn't really looking like something we should ignore based on 'bias'. Some things coming out of the industry (biodegradable, corn-based plastic) might really turn out great, but if I'm eating it, I'd rather it be what nature intended.

The film demonizes all GMO biotechnology without ever acknowledging its benefits to long term agriculture. It focuses on a handful of abuses and rightly flags companies who misuse GMO technology. It is highly speculative and should be regarded as irrational whistle blowing on an entire industry for the sins of one company.

Food, Inc. is a very good/informative film. Also, just doing some good ol' fashion research on your own is usually helpful....

That's why it's good to be educated and aware, most people have known about this stuff forever. Ignorance isn't bliss in this case, pull your head out of your a**!

Hmmm...patenting ocean water (or even air!)...we've got to think big here. If we can just be the first to patent the process! Then we could get a percentage of all of Monsanto's plants using OUR water and OUR air....no wait! How about patenting sunlight! Then all the planets in the solar system would owe us a gratuity...not to mention the emerging solar energy industry! I'm reminded here of the "ice-nine" in Kurt Vonnegut's novel "Cat's Cradle" that was a special crystal form of water that when released crystallized all water...setting up an "end time' scenario. Documentaries are not the same thing as a (supposedly) unbiased news broadcast. There is no unwritten rule that they need to present both sides of an issue.
