Ghost Hunt: Forbidden Pastime, Part 4

I really love this show...but I am consistently surprised at the character's (Mai) stupidity. Especially in this episode, she is constantly questioning her own powers, when Clearly in the other episodes her dreams actually meant something and were important to the plot! Truly, they need to give her some brains or something b/c I am tired of her stupidity riding the story line, never mind that she is naive, she was Outright Stupid in this episode, and the writer's gave her so many lines?!?!!? I had to listen to a high pitched annoying voice go blah blah blah don't kill them blah blah blah murderer blah blah blah.
Otherwise, the show itself is AWESOME. Despite the hiccup of the stupidity.

After 6 months of working under Shibuya Kazuka, Mai and her friends discover the reliability and usefulness of her latent, psychic talents as shown in the previous 3 episodes. As a result she gains confidence in both her abilities and as a member of the SPR team. Mai, having learned the situation of the school makes a decision in order to help, only to discover that she knew less than she had originally thought.

It's a classic example of having learned just enough to get oneself into trouble.

Great ep....if only the real Ghost Hunters was half as exciting as this series is. Also don't feed into someone just fishing for rage. They want you to get angry. Mataku noobs..

seriously u r going to try and appear superior by reviewing an anime i mean come on do u really have nothing better to do is this how u spend ur education................or did u just look those words up on dictionary.com and yes a certain moments she was really stupid but at others she gave a glimpse into what humanity should be so if u want to be uppity about it and talk then she was the smartest one in this episode for sticking to her ideals and being a human and caring for others how many of u would be willing to put yourself in mortal danger for people you didnt know or just met so u know what i would hope that someone would see this as an example of truly being selfless..... and if ur wondering why im ranting its because i have to work so goddamn hard to go to a good highschool and get into a good college and i hate people who waste an education to belittle others so thanks for pissing me off

Honestly, folks, whats with the bashing of the girl as stupid and irrational? I'm an adult graduate school student, and I would have acted the same way she did, I hope. Isn't acting on an ideal in the face of apparent overwhelming odds the very essence of all tales of heroism? Isn't that the basis of morality itself?

I love this series, even though this isn't my favorite episode. The main character is a teenager. Hence, she's bound to act irrationally, especially in this episode, because she thinks she understands what's going on, but doesn't really. Could be worse. The producers could have enhanced the romance element between Mai and Naru. Thank God for small blessings.
