Until I see a "fuel efficient" car that really is fuel efficient quit showing me these fakes eco cars. How quick we forget that many many cars got 40-50 mpg 15 years ago. Now we need all this electronic gadgets that are supposed to make the cars run better but somehow they don't.
If I was really concerned about fuel use I would spend 2 grand on a 1990 crx. Anything else is a joke.
Glad to see that one of the announcers tends to agree with my statements above.
Why the auto industry continually tries to push a lexus as a luxury caris also lost on me. It's a economy car with leather interior. Anyone sits in a BMW, Mercedes or Jaguar and the lexus doesn't seem so great.
End of the day you either want to please yourself or please others. Hybrids are all about trying to show others your conscious of your earth mother. It's about pleasing those around you. Other side of the coin is driving something that puts a smile on your face. No hybrid has done that yet.
Next why all the techno gadgets in the cars now? I bought a state of the art BMW Z4 baack 6 years ago when it first came out. Has so many features that at the tijme were cutitng edge technololgy. Now I got a $300 phone that does all the car did and more. So I got a car full of gadgets I don't use. Give me traction control, a ipod jack and leave the rest of the car alone.
On the technology stuff one thing I really like about GM is they keep all the technology inside the radio. I can swap out the radio in my solstice for less then $200 for there latest version in case I really do want all those new features.
The only car makers I seem to get this year is Jaguar. While everyone made cheaper and slower cars with technology that doesn't deliver Jaguar went in the opposite direction. All there new cars have over 500 hp. Good for them. Think I will have to get the 2010 xkr.
