Yet another wonderfully done flashback episode to fill in the gaps of much used time-traveling :) Another season one-esque episode.
It also gives nice insight into Elle's past, which makes her all of an even more interesting character.
My main gripe? The way DL was offed. You honestly can't expect me to believe that with the three seconds that he had saw the gun pointed at his chest that he couldn't have thought to phase! And it's not like he was protecting Niki from the bullet such as that with Linderman. WTF, mate? If the writers really didn't want DL around anymore, it would have been easier to just have him killed by Linderman's bullet at the end of the first season instead of making us watch the agony of being killed in a situation which he could have easily escaped.
