I think you're ignoring plenty of modern movies where stupid stuff happens. I actually thought this movie was pretty good. That shot of the two guys walking down the side of the ship was just awesome (pay attention to the lack of sound during the scene...just fantastic).Don't get me wrong, the fact that it takes the characters so long to think of flushing the air from the ship is silly and the ridiculous amount of weapons (being used in a spaceship no less!) borders on unbelievable. But the basic plot is very sound (as someone else pointed out, it bears a striking resemblance to Alien) and the acting is for the most part pretty decent.I don't know. Maybe you just have to enjoy it for what it is?   See 5 other replies
