Then why reuse the same footage to cover two moments in time? Bad editing or just not something WE need to be seeing. I've actually seen this show where they didn't edit out a Cop smacking the crap outa some guy then notice the camera guy coming up behind him and suddenly asking another Cop to "take the guy downstairs". I like the show, but I don't like all of them. I like Cops, but I don't like All of them. Know what i mean? There are numbskulls in every profession including the Police. See 6 other replies

Cops is usually filmed with 2 guys, sound guy and cameraman, and they hang around with cops all day. When their in a situation like that, with one officer struggling to take down a suspect while calling in backup at the same time, they're gonna lend a hand. They don't want to be an obstruction, but the cop's life and his job is more important than getting the shot. See 6 other replies

No, he was helping the officer. I've seen it before and they just edit it out. How can they show a copy from 30 seconds earlier in a different take if there's only one camera man? See 6 other replies

I don't believe this was a result of pausing the camera to help out. It was clearly two clips of the exact same incident represented as two different moments in time. It is definitely a deliberate edit and a puzzle as to why a piece was cut in the first place. I am not representing that anything bad happened and was cut out, but something made the editor cut out a piece and put in a copy from 30 seconds earlier and it wasn't just to fill a void. It was deliberate for reasons unknown to me and a curiosity. See 6 other replies

I like how the guy in the background walks by like nothing is happening when the cop pulls the taser on him.

Here let me explain to you. When you see the Officer take him down the second time, the camera guy pauses his camera to help him, Once he starts filming again, you can see the camera guy backing away because he finished helping him. that's why they edit it like that. See 6 other replies
