The main character, Jake, represents the lie we are all telling ourselves, that we must put aside who we really are to be what we think everyone wants us to be. The shrink in the movie, whether real or only in Jake's subconscious, reminds us that our first instinct is to perform the role, to live the lie, instead of being true to ourselves. Even if that means we must be vulnerable, face our fears or admit to our mistakes. I enjoyed this movie beginning to end. You felt for Jake, as if it were you, his entangled pain, his desire to be free of it and his beautiful heart that was always there, wanting to love and be loved.
