This is by far the greatest trailer I've ever seen. Very well done.
The film, which I finally watched is much darker, more complex, and more philosophical. I struggle wrapping my head around it.
Ultimately though, this film is one of the most beautiful representations of the pain and heartache that it is to love someone. The film, more than any other piece of art I've experienced, captures what it is to be part of a family--the melancholy and joy of growing up and of growing old. The brilliant performance of max records completes the film. It is as if he sprung directly from the imagination of Sendak--he becomes the character of max and takes the audience to another world.
Finally the film imparts the ultimate importance of family and the emotional and spiritual roller coaster that it is to be human. Definitely worth seeking out. A very powerful movie.
