MPW is an incredible innovator and mentor. If that hadn't been the case, several of the current top chefs would most likely not have achieved their status (Ramsey, Batali, Blumental, etc.)
As for the show not lasting long, I doubt that anyone would have heard of Ramsey had his show been scheduled for prime time (not the summer schedule) and placed opposite the most popular show of the same time slot.
First off, White has not been unrelentingly negative toward Ramsey. He does however, have reasonable right to feel angry given Ramsey's confession that he (Ramsey) took a reservations book and implied that White had 'stolen' it. (Ramsey thought that the owners of the restaurant would replace him with White)
To see more of MPW in action, I'd suggest checking out the latest episodes of Hell's Kitchen UK and the Great British Feast on utube. I'd like to see him in similar programs broadcast here (preferably on Bravo!)   See 4 other replies

if Ramsey's show had been scheduled opposite American Idol, I doubt that we would have heard anything more about him. Before you trash MPW, check out the Hell's Kitchen UK version with him at the helm and the Great British Feast program, both on utube. Head and shoulders above the US version. I was shocked at how much more talented the celeb contestants were than most of the professional chefs on Ramsey's show.
The negatives from White come from having Ramsey imply that White had stolen a reservations book in a restaurant that Ramsey thought he'd lose to White. Totally false and this after White mentored Ramsey along with other opportunities that jump started his career.   See 4 other replies
