I'm going to put this here because seeing this particular advertisement for the nth time here while watching Cosmos pushed me over the edge.
Hillshire Farms, along with countless other brand entities, seems to either think I'm a colossal idiot, or has no sense of worth for their product.
Evidentally, the value of a sandwich made with Hillshire Farms meats is worth just shy of a pony. However, in the bidding leading up to the final win, the boy had accepted bids of a baloney sandwich, three oatmeal cookies, a pudding cup, and a bag of candy. This indicates to me that Hillshire Farms is trying to tell me that kids would rather have baloney, cookies, pudding, or candy before suffering a sandwich made with their meats.
The kid already had what should have been the most valuable item in the cafeteria (the product that the advertisement is trying to sell) but tries to pawn it off for junk food anyway.
Thanks, but no thanks, Hillshire. I won't be buying your substandard meats.
