Oh, and I now watched Fat Head here on Hulu. You're joking, right? Fighting bad faith with bad faith... does it work? Fat Head is just a lame attempt to capitalize on the success of Super Size Me. Whatever good points it makes are drowned in bad jokes and twisted logic.

That reminds me of Kramer in Seinfeld, with his smoke nights, absorbing as much nicotine in a few days as most in a lifetime of smoking... and turning into a hideous freak ("look away!").
Yes, it's extreme, but it's done to make a point. And if Spurlock had only had McDonalds twice a week, the fast foodies would've been up in arms saying that there was no way to know for sure that Mickey D made him sick... it could've been the veggies, you know? (wink)

I watched Fat Head after you and another reviewer recommended it somewhere. Well, I tried to watch it. But it's obviously from another loser trying desperately to gain fame by using the same tactics as Spurlock and embracing the other viewpoint. The result is not balance, but disgust after an avalanche of bad jokes, and worse, bad faith. He can't see fat people so they don't exist. Good one. And fast food is not forced down anybody's throat... That I agree with, but only on the surface: corporations have sneaky ways to influence the public, as was proven about tobacco companies.

I don't have a problem with McDonald's existing and making billions. I do have one with people denying that fast food is pure crap with deleterious effects. Yes, Spurlock went a bit far, but by only eating McDonald's, as unrealistic as it seemed, he removed every other food variables. And I seriously doubt that he could gain 20 lbs in a mere month, and mess up his health that much, on fruits and veggies. Because you see, only fast food is saturated with sodium, fat and sugar. The point was clear, even if a tad heavy handed.
They also sell cigarettes and alcohol in this country, but regulate ads and have campaigns informing people of the risks. Well, fast food has Super Size Me. In a perfect world we wouldn't need The Man or Spurlock to intervene to save us against our will, but this world ain't perfect - it's populated by idiots, and naive kids, and parents too tired and busy to have fights over Happy Meals every day.
