I'm typically a fan of the 1960's & '70's sci-fi/horror shows like The Outer limits, The Twilight Zone, and Alfred Hitchcock's Hour, and I generally expect that not every episode will be enjoyable, but The Forms of Things Unknown is a real stinker. It opens well, and the relationship between the women and their awful captor is intriguing. The way they kill him is sinister and oddly titillating. You see how frightening he is, and it's easy to want him gone for good. But... that only gets you through the first 5-10 minutes, sadly, the episode concentrates too much on the women running around in the wet woods with one of the women giving off these horrible, anxiety driven screams, until they come across a house owned by a blind man. Cliche after cliche come barreling one after another. It's tedious and silly. I loved the time machine: a room filled with clocks, tied together by string. It looked ridiculous, but fantastic from a kitschy perspective. Aside from that, the story offers nothing new, is poorly executed, and boring.
