The camera and special effects are surprisingly effective; Max Ernst and Brueghel would have loved this episode as much as I did. Truly, it's beautifully put together in the visual sense.
The story exemplifies the best of the Outer Limits: humorless, bleak, surreal, and scathing at that bleeding edge of morality and ethical quandary. A great deal of social commentary is quietly inserted into this episode, underneath the radar of the blaring / obvious "Paternalism vs Women's Lib" theme.
It's a shame, but modern anthologies lack this kind of forethought and care.
