Hulu - Stargate SG-1: There But For the Grace of God

Yeah Teal'c was bad in this one but it was the bomb they sent through to Chulak that did it. Jack almost could have had Teal'c if it wasn't for the bomb he sent and Jack reminding him that his wife and son were probably dead by now because of him. If it wasn't for the bomb it did look like Teal'c might have believed him. :)

Yeah that was a good episode and you would think Daniel would know by now not to go touching strange things he finds on other planets especially mirrors that reflect everything EXCEPT him! :)

I think at this point they did not k now that the Goa'uld considered earth that big of a threat to have them travel all that way by ships to attack earth. So I think the warning was just that if the Goa'uld in that reality considered earth enough of a threat to come all that way by ships to attack then it's very possible that in our reality the Goa'uld feel the same way, even more so because Teal'c betrayed them by JOINING earth. So that alone would make the Goa'uld determined to attack earth if only to get Teal'c!

For your first observation when Daniel said he hates when this happens, he might not have even meant them supposedly leaving him, he was probably saying that because he knew something was wrong because they WOULD NEVER leave him, so right off the bat he knews something was strange and not right. So he said he hates when that (something wierd or strange happening) happens. That's how I took it. :)

With your other observation, that Daniel turned Katherine down probably before he knew about the Stargate. Remember in the movie how Katherine asked him to help her and he was reluctant at first and almost said no, but he just said yeah because he had just gotten evicted and had nowere else to go and once he said yes then he learned about the Stargate. So it's very possible for the alternate Daniel to say no to Katherine before knowing it was about the Stargate. Maybe in that reality he was not evicted and had a place to go. LOL!

To address your first concern... "this" didn't actually happen in the correct reality. Even when Daniel had been gone for a while, the rest of SG-1 was still looking for him. It only appeared that they hadn't waited for him because he had been transported to an alternate reality and they had never been there in the first place.
The second one I don't have an answer to haha. Maybe that Daniel was just more snooty?

plot hole, plain and simple. not the first episode with one. really great idea in this series, but the plot holes are horrible. this one made me the angriest... but i will still watch b/c the show itself is interesting. See 4 other replies

I liked this episode. It showed how things would be different if people had made different choices. However, it is unfortunate it took a couple of plot holes to make it happen.

For example:

1. It is inconceivable that SG-1 would have left Daniel behind on that first planet. Visiting Alien worlds didn't become so routine that they could leave a team member behind for taking too much time. What would Hammond say? "You left a team member on a planet that had radiation?" Even though Daniel says "I hate it when this happens" THIS would never happen.

2. Why in the world would the Alternate Reality Version of Daniel not want to be involved in the Stargate program? He was ostracized from the scientific community for his theory that Aliens built the pyramids. And now he refuses to join the team dedicated to research to prove his theories right? Don't add up.

Anyway, this is a fictional TV show...a show I really like...so i forgive the writers for their mistakes.
