I'm just going to throw this out there. Why. OH WHY. Why would these people stilll be at this level? I'm assuming this is one of the worlds that the ...gha'old?... whatever, the bad guys didn't feel like messing with. Why would they still be at MONGOLIAN levels? Is there something special about earth that causes rapid advancement? They've had time to evolve and change. Why should they be frozen at the cultural level of mongolians? I havent seen the whole episode yet, but that's something that jumped out at me.
We, and i'm talking about humans, went from chamberpots and candles to flush toilets and atomic power in less than 200 years. Why the heck shouldn't these 'seeded' folk be the same? Oh and why does everyone speak english? there hasn't been a Universal Translator explanation yet. We can't just point to star trek here.

I almost didn't watch this episode. Carter may be smart, but she sure isn't swift about how to behave in the presence of people with other cultures, and as a member of this particular crew, I would think that should have been a prerequisite. Since I'm new to the series and want to catch it from the beginning, I kept watching. So far, I enjoy the show and although this episode wasn't great, it wasn't terrible either.

really bad episode, not much happened and why does everyone speak English i am pretty sure Mongolians did not speak English.

At the very beginning, 56seconds into the episode, you can see Carter smile before running to help the boy. I guess she lost focus and stepped out of character for a brief moment. Obviously, no one on set caught that either. LOL

or does this remind any of you of the Prime Directive!?! Definitely not one of the better ones...

It was good for the most part. The ending made me laugh "whats an opera" lol
