I thought Pasquale did a wonderful job in Expedition Africa. The man is smart and takes his expedition seriously. I think he's great and I enjoyed this show.
Yea, after watching this documentary I still get it either. Everest is in some ways a very hard climb, but also in other ways an easy climb. It doesn't take a lot of technical climbing skill, just raw determination. Well I've never associated being blind with having a diminished sense of determination. If anything I would think that as a rule blind people have to develop a greater sense of determination just to make it through life. And it does seem that, in fact, Erik had an easier time making to the summit than some other members of his expedition. Having said that then it still strikes me a less of acomplishment for a blind person to summit then a sighted person because he can't see what's he's done and that is really the whole point of climbing to the top of a mountain.

We checked into the discrepancy between this video and the DVD version. The clarification from the film's producer: We only have the rights to the shorter version, which aired on television. The producer himself made the made the cuts and this, in fact, is the version that was nominated for two Emmy Awards. The longer version s still available for purchase through Serac films.

Sorry, currently our video library can only be streamed from within the United States
Hulu is committed to making its content available worldwide. To do so,

obtaining international streaming rights. Know that we are working to make
this happen and will continue to do so. Given the international background
of the Hulu team, we have both a professional and personal interest in
bringing Hulu to a global audience.
