I'm an atheist, but the show is very interesting. The founding father's of the United States didn't believe in the divine right of kings, and chose a different form of governing. If monarchies like this had survived I imagine it would be very much like this fictional world.
If David becomes king will he still be the same person, after all the king has absolute say over life and death in this kingdom.
I meant to catch this show when it first aired. It's unfortunate NBC requires a show to be a slam dunk or home run to keep it on the air, but in these economic times I saw how much this show cost to produce, and it's not generating the numbers to get back the advertising dollars to keep it on the air.
Although looking at reviews on other sites it got fairly good ones, one thing I was surprised about is that it wasn't marketed to religious organization, my mother didn't know anything about this show and she saw the first episode and liked it, and she is very religious, she liked how the characters spoke of their belief so openly on a television, especially on a major network.
